Be Smart! Be Safe! Be Prepared!
In the world we live in crimes like assault, robbery, or rape or even a more violent crime can strike at any time. One of the worst and most dangerous attitudes you can have is it will never happen to me this is "Wrong Thinking". A good attitude and "Right Thinking" is it could happen to me but I am prepared for it when it comes. This kind of thinking could prevent you from becoming a victim and could possibly save your life.
To protect yourself properly you need to have "Right Thinking" and right thinking is what I call "Personal Protection Awareness". You must have an awareness what is going on around you at all times in every situation or circumstance you find yourself. To be aware of your surroundings and your position of safety in those surroundings. For example every time you leave your house, go shopping, coming home, going for a walk are you aware of what is going on around you? Are you prepared?
This may be a new way of thinking for some people but it is important. It doesn't mean you have to live in fear just be aware and ready. Remember your personal safety is and should be priority number one. Are you prepared to protect yourself?
Here is a brief quiz to see how prepared you are, simply answer yes or no to the questions:
1. Do you have your car keys attached to a pepper spray? If someone attacked you when you were walking to/or from or getting into your car you would you be prepared?
If you carry pepper spray do you know how to use it effectively? We offer a self defense manual on how to use pepper spray CLICK HERE TO SEE IT.
2. Do you have a pepper spray clipped to your visor in your vehicle so you could quickly reach up if it was needed to defend yourself in the case of someone trying to carjack your auto with you in it?
3. Do you have the attitude I don't want to carry a stun gun, or pepper spray because you wouldn't want to hurt anyone? (Try reversing that how about someone hurting you?)
4. Do you carry pepper spray or canine (dog repellent) spray like Mace Canine Spray when going for walks, jogging or ridding your bike?
5. If you are taking the same route to work daily or a regularly attended function DO YOU ever observe to see if someone (seeing the same vehicle) is following you?
6. Is there proper lighting where you exit or leave your residents?
7. If you carry pepper spray do you know how to use it effectively?
Did you answer yes or no to these questions? Are you using "Personal Protection Awareness"?

Don't make the mistake of not being prepared for the worst. A good attitude is I expect not to be a victim of a violent crime but if the occasion should arise I am well prepared to defend myself.
Some of this information was taken from "Don't Be A Victim" A Manual of Self Protection written by Michael Brandt. Michael is also owner of Security-Pro-Tech self-defense supply.
